SUMMARY:Literacy Week: Camp Read-A-Lot Spring Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Our Literacy Adventure & Spring Fundraiser kicks off on February 28th! Throughout the week\, students will participate in a number of reading adventure activities like our kickoff assembly\, track their reading at home\, and participating in Camp-Read-A-Lot Spirit Week. \nWe are also asking families to participate by supporting their students in their reading\, and donating to our Camp-Read-A-Lot Spring Fundraiser. \nOur school community is strong\, but we’re facing financial challenges due to unmet Fun Run goals and upcoming district budget cuts. To protect the programs that inspire our students\, we need your help. \nJoin our Camp Read-A-Lot Fundraiser by contributing $31 for each of your students (that’s just $1 a day for March Literacy Month). Every dollar goes directly to programs that foster creativity\, curiosity\, and a love of learning–and reading! With your contributions we can make it to our fundraising goal of $15\,000. If you can give more and sponsor an additional child/children\, your generosity will go even further. Every donation counts! Let’s ensure Hazelwood remains a place where every child can thrive.  \nDONATE NOW > \n\nDETAILS\nFebruary 28 – March 9 | Literacy Week & Fundraiser Kickoff\nStudents will embark on their journey through reading and log their adventure in their reading trackers. All types of reading count–student reading\, parent-led reading\, teacher-led reading\, and even listening to audiobooks! We recommend aiming for 10-20 minutes of reading each day. \nDonations are also open for our Spring Fundraiser. DONATE NOW > \nMarch 3 – March 7 | Spirit Week\nShow up to school each day according to the following themes: \nMonday: Mustang Monday – Wear your favorite Hazelwood spirit gear\nTuesday: Let’s Go Camping – Come dressed for the outdoors\, ready for adventure\nWednesday: Go Team! Wear your favorite sports team gear or colors\nThursday: Character Day – Show up as your favorite story character from a book or movie\nFriday: Reading Rainbow – Each grade dresses in the colors below to come together as a Reading Rainbow\n \nReady K – Red\nKindergarten – Orange\n1st – Yellow\n2nd – Green\n3rd – Blue\n4th – Purple\n5th – Pink\nStaff – White \nMarch 10 | Reading logs due\nTurn in your reading logs (print or email a digital version) to your teacher on this day for a chance to win a prize! \nMarch 14 | Donations close\nFinal day to donate to our Spring Fundraiser.
